Hello everyone!
As many of you may or may not know, Ryan and I have decided to change directions in our lives and begin to pursue adoption. After almost two years of desperately trying to get pregnant on our own, we both decided it was time to begin the adoption process.
So, here we are at the beginning! We have decided that we want to adopt out of foster care, so we called the telephone number on Georgia's Department of Family and Child Services website, received a nice little brochure in the mail, and a letter informing us that a case manager would be contacting us within 10 business days! We received the letter on Thursday, so hopefully we'll hear something this week about moving forward!
As of right now, we're in the initial excitement phase. The website says that foster care adoptions can happen between 6 months and a year, so by this time next year Ryan and I will be parents!

- The love of my life, Ryan, and I met in October of 2006 at Georgia Tech (he was a student and I was dating a friend of his). After things didn't work out with my other relationship, Ryan and I started dating in February of 2007, were engaged in June at Niagara Falls, and married on October 28, 2007 in the North Georgia mountains. We welcomed our beautiful son, Jackson Drake, on May 27, 2010 at 26 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 2 lbs 2 ounces and spent 12 weeks in the NICU in Atlanta. On July 16, 2011, we welcomed our second beautiful son, Parker Stephen, at 34 weeks and 3 days gestation. He weighed 5 pounds 12.5 ounces and measured 18.5 inches long. He spent 7 days in the NICU in Akron, Ohio. Now, our whole family is home together: Ryan, Anna, Jackson, Parker, and our six cats: Amie Sue, Iza, Grace, Miss Brooks, Mario,and Jacob!
